Brenda is back!!!

I will censor myself out of respect for Jennie [Garth] because she's friends with Tori. I got passages sent to me and a vast majority of it is incredibly exaggerated. Maybe it's a difference of how I was raised. I just don't believe you write personal on-set experiences in a book. For me, when you work it's almost a sacred experience whether you get along with everyone or not. In 27 years of acting I've never sold out one of my cast members. Ever. And I will stick to that."

- Shannon Doherty on Tori Spelling's tell-all, to Entertainment Weekly

Bugatti and Hermès Collaboration

Originally announced at the International Car Show back in March, a relationship originally forged in the 1920s by Ettore Bugatti and Émile Hermès would be re-visited once again as the two would collaborate together on a special make-up of the 1001 horsepower monster, the Bugatti Veyron. While the original model debutant car was seen in brown/tan tones, this second look unveils another colorway with three other schemes also part of the package of custom-made to order cars ringing in at € 1.5 million EUR (approximately $2.2 million USD). Aside from the ability to choose from “indigo blue and vermilion”, “indigo blue and lime green”, ” black and garance red” and “Prussian blue and blue jean”, each Veyron Fbg includes H-pattern grille, eight-spoke wheels, a luxurious calfskin upholstery and an exclusive collection of Hermes luggage.

Converse 100th Anniversary

The Converse 100th anniversary has featured itself as a re-visiting of some of Converse’s extensive back catalogs of products with the focus revolving not only around staples such as the Jack Prucell and Chuck Taylor All-Star but also some models you probably wouldn’t associate with the Converse brand. For October, Converse Japan has previewed styles such as the Camping Hi, Weapon Custom Color Ox, All Star Tassel Hi and All Star Rave Hi.

JENNIE GARTH AND SHANNEN DOHERTY GO BACK TO SCHOOL IN ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY

Below is an excerpt of Entertainment Weekly’s Q&A:

EW: Did you ever think the two of you would be sitting here talking about playing Brenda Walsh and Kelly Tay lor again?

Jennie Garth and Shannen Doherty: [In uni son] No.

Garth: I thought [Beverly Hills, 90210] had a beginning, middle, and an end. It was very neatly in its coffin and it was done. When they told me they were do ing it, I thought: No! Like something sort of sacred was being disrupted. Some part of who I was and a piece of my history was being messed with. It took me a while to settle into that idea.

Doherty: Early on, my publicist got a call asking her “Would she do it?” I was kind of like, Why would I play Brenda Walsh again? There was an “I Hate Brenda” newsletter. Why would I pos sibly get myself back into that? I think it was too scary for me. I didn’t want to go back to people hating me. It just wasn’t something that I considered for a good chunk of time. At some point it hit me that this is what the fans want ed. They put a roof over my head. They allow me to eat and to feed my dogs. The only reason I survive is because of them. If there’s one way to possibly say thank you, it is to go back and play a character that you never even liked yourself.

EW: You didn’t like Brenda?

Doherty There were parts of Brenda I loved. They just took her in a really odd direction that I didn’t necessarily agree with at the time. I still kind of look back and think, Eh, it’s not what I would have done, but I understand. Every show has to have that character full of teenage angst and drama. I think she was driven by insecurity that was at the root of everything.

EW: The other day you had your first scene together in 14 years. When did you last see each other before the scene and what was it like shooting together again?

Doherty: [Laughs] Oh, God. When was it? Ten years ago? I don’t know. A long time. I can only speak for myself, but being with someone I knew made it easier for me my first day on set. At least for me there was an appreciation that we’d been through the first 90210 together and now we’re going through it again, but in such a different way be cause we’re both adults now. The only weird thing was while we were trying to catch up everyone was watching us. Every single eyeball was on us. I don’t know what they were expecting. I was more interested in talking to her about Dancing With the Stars. I thought she did an amazing job.

THE EMPIRE STRIKES BLACK

Valentino: Tears and Cheers

VENICE — “I only remember what I want to remember,” joked Valentino to Giancarlo Giammetti during a stroll down Via Veneto, as the latter brought back memories of their first encounter at the Café de Paris in Rome on July 31, 1960.

“It must be since the Dolce Vita days that I haven’t been down here,” added Valentino with a twang of nostalgia.

Their walk down memory lane on a cold, winter day may have been orchestrated for a scene in Matt Tyrnauer’s documentary, “Valentino: The Last Emperor,” but the deeply rooted, inspirational and unique union between Valentino and Giammetti is really what sparked...

Wilhelmina Going Public

Wilhelmina announced this morning that they're going public.

When private companies decide to go public, it usually means that they need to raise some cash, either because they have some nagging debts, or because they just want to have the capital to expand.

We're curious to see what, if anything, comes from this. Wilhelmina hasn't really been relevant in terms of fashion models for a while, at least not in comparison to major players like IMG and Women. Though WIlhelmina helped launch the career of Lauren Hutton, their roster of clients right now is headlined by Fergie, Brandy, and Natasha Bedingfield.

Maybe they're raising money to steal away some of the girls on Model.com's Top 50 - because, as of right now, Wilhelmina is entirely absent.

Jerry Ford died on August 24th

Jerry Ford, who founded the Ford Modeling Agency with his wife, Eileen, in 1946, died Sunday at the age of 83 in Morristown, New Jersey. His daughter Katie Ford told the New York Times the cause of death was complications from endocarditis, or inflammation of the heart. Ford is credited with turning modeling into a true profession and establishing the business practices by which it operates today. He introduced a system for collecting fees for models and agents. He also was the first to create contracts for models to exclusively represent certain brands and earn much higher fees. Lauren Hutton signed the first such contract negotiated by Ford with Revlon in 1974. Ford's agency managed the biggest models for decades, including Christie Brinkley, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen, and Brooke Shields. In the book Model: The Ugly Business of Beautiful Women by Michael Gross, Ford says, "I’m not from New York. I thought models were the most incredible things in the world.”

Jean Paul Gaultier in Hong Kong

A handful of designers, including Jean Paul Gaultier, Donna Karan and Oscar De La Renta, have been lending their clout this week to an invitation-only luxury fashion event in Hong Kong.

The French maestro presented a collection imbued with the elements of fantasy and playfulness for which he is renowned in front of an audience of shoppers rather than the usual fashion editors.

DNA and Pop Magazine

POP’s Myspace page features their Fall 80’s excess issue with 6 fabulous collectors’covers shot by Sebastian Faena. Supermodels Naomi, Natalia Vodianova, Agyness Deyn, Amber Valetta and rising star Jourdan Dunn wear Prada and mix religious themes with the lacy frocks.

OH KATE, OH MERT,OH MARCUS OH MY!!!

In one shot, a laid back Moss leans against the wall in a high-legged leotard, with her tiny waist ‘crowned’ by a unusual-looking belt made of metal wires.
For the feature, the 34-year-old covers up her long blonde hair with a short platinum blonde wig, harking back to the 1980s haircut of Blondie star Deborah Harry.
The supermodel, who is dating Kills frontman boyfriend Jamie Hince, reveals in the interview that she doesn’t think terribly highly of the opposite sex.
‘Absolute b******s. Men are not to be trusted,’ she said.
She also boasts of her sexual abilities, admitting she has more experience with men in her thirties: ‘I’m a lot better in the sack now.’
She also reveals her daughter, Lila, is a fashion freak and much-more strong willed than she was as a child.
The model also chose the interview as an excuse to pour water on rumours that she doesn’t eat and is too skinny.
She said: ‘I didn’t eat for a long time. Not on purpose. You’d be on shoots with bad food or get on a plane and the food would be so disgusting you wouldn’t eat it.’
‘I never liked being that skinny. I was never anorexic, so I was never that skinny.’
Her comments, which also appear in this week’s Grazia magazine, come as she was snapped enjoying a romantic night out with Hince.
Moss was pictured leaving pop star George Michael’s house following the final leg of his two-year worldwide tour to mark the end of his live career.
As well as Moss and Hince, other guests in attendance were Matt Lucas and a mystery male companion.
And despite giving the rare interview, Moss proved she is still keen to avoid the paparazzi glare as she tried to shield herself from cameras by covering herself with a jacket.
Moss was styled by Karl Templer for the Interview shoot. The magazine is currently on sale in U.S. newsstands.

Brad shooting the cover of W Magazine

BLOWING THE COVER —The November 2008 cover of W will not feature the work of Steven Klein or Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, but rather Brad Pitt. The actor shot Angelina Jolie and the rest of the Jolie-Pitt family at Chateau Miraval in the southern France last week, marking his first ever turn as cover photographer. Angelina and Brad appeared together on the W cover once before in 2005. What a coup for W — especially considering the numbers the Jolie-Pitts just turned for People

Marc not married!

After that rampant Marc Jacobs marriage rumor that made major Internet waves last month, we finally have confirmation that it didn't happen. In The New Yorker's Sept. 1 issue, Ariel Levy's profile of Marc bluntly states: "Last month, Page Six misreported that Jacobs had married Martone." So, no marriage, but there is plenty of other insight to be had about Marc's relationship with Lorenzo Martone, his new "addiction," and all that attention he's been getting.

Lorenzo was upset about all the tabloid coverage their relationship gets; Marc told him to "man up" and ignore it.

"Last Tuesday, [Page Six] had me making out with my ex-boyfriend Jason Preston at Pastis and bad-mouthing someone I went out with for four days. Well, first of all, I did not bad-mouth the person I went out with for four days, second of all I was not getting back together with Jason Preston, and, fourth—or first!—of all, I wasn't even in the city of New York on that Saturday! I was in Paris, France. My current boyfriend said, 'Marc, you know I don't believe it, but so many people have asked me about it.' I was, like, 'You put me on a plane Friday night! How can you be listening to this?'"

Instead of cocaine or alcohol, the gym has become Marc's addiction.

"Everything is beautiful at the gym, everyone looks amazing. You just think it's like one big healthy circus going on out there: the bodies are great, people are jolly, and, even when they're complaining about how strenuous it is, there's, like, a kind of very good, positive, we're-all-doing-something-good-for-ourselves . . . And it's two and a half hours that I'm not smoking. I am a true addict in that whatever makes me feel good I want more of, whether it's good for me or not."

Carines new favorite model

Is Anna Selezneva Carine Roitfeld's new favorite model? Carine styled her for the covers of both Vogue Paris and Vogue Russia September 2008. Even more of an indicator: Inside the Vogue Paris issue, Carine supposedly styled Anna as herself, a la Snejana Onopka as Anna Wintour.
