Just Married!!!

Congrats!

"Ann" still Obamas girl

We know Anna Wintour's an Obama girl, but an email from the Senator's camp on Tuesday may have strained the tie a little. Right in the middle of fashion week — Sept. 9, to be exact — the Charles Nolan studio is hosting an Obama campaign fashion fundraising event, which a Tuesday campaign email to supporters referred to as "Runway to Change with Special Guests Sarah Jessica Parker & Ann Wintour."

Ann Wintour. It's fairly safe to assume they were referring to Anna Wintour, who as of early July had contributed between $100,000 and $200,000 to the Obama campaign, but this still seems like a big faux pas — she is their "special guest," after all. Besides, we all know the story of how Hillary Clinton was publicly chastised by Anna after she pulled out of Vogue — she has no qualms about putting politicians in their place.
Here's the nail in the coffin: Obama spokesman Hari Sevugan joked about the email mix-up: "It was either a typo or the extra syllable would have thrown off the haiku we were going for." At least Anna's name is spelled correctly on the formal invites, but . . . yikes, that might have ruined any chance for Michelle Obama to nab a Vogue cover, not to mention how many campaign dollars they might have just lost.

Stevens 2 for 1

The September issue of Vogue has a "2-For-1 Special" photo spread, shot in a supermarket by Steven Meisel and starring Amber Valetta and Kirsty Hume. The story is supposedly about dual-toned sheaths, but just like everything else this fall, it's about Mad Men! The retro housewife aesthetic.

Coco Avant Chanel

UNEBUG star Alessandro Nivola has been confirmed as the man who will play a dashing Arthur "Boy" Capel to Audrey Tatou's Coco Chanel in the upcoming big screen biopic, Coco Avant Chanel.
Nivola is reportedly learning French for the role, despite playing one of the few American characters in the film.
Directed by Anne Fontaine, Coco Avant Chanel focuses on Mademoiselle Chanel's early life, before her design house achieved worldwide fame; Capel funded her fashion business in its initial stages, and also influenced her masculine aesthetic. His death in a car accident has been described as the most devastating event in the designer's life.
Speaking to VOGUE.COM recently about the film, which is scheduled for release next year, Tatou said: "I'm very happy with the script because it is about [Chanel's] youth and the elements which tell us what she would become, and why her style is what it is today."

Take a bath with Kate

Remember back in June when Kate Moss was shooting an editorial in Istanbul for W magazine? The "Hammam" photos appear in the September 2008 issue, shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, with a sultry Kate against the backdrop of a Turkish bath. It's classic exotic Kate — and there's even a chain-link bikini involved.
