Carines new favorite model

Is Anna Selezneva Carine Roitfeld's new favorite model? Carine styled her for the covers of both Vogue Paris and Vogue Russia September 2008. Even more of an indicator: Inside the Vogue Paris issue, Carine supposedly styled Anna as herself, a la Snejana Onopka as Anna Wintour.

Stevens 2 for 1

The September issue of Vogue has a "2-For-1 Special" photo spread, shot in a supermarket by Steven Meisel and starring Amber Valetta and Kirsty Hume. The story is supposedly about dual-toned sheaths, but just like everything else this fall, it's about Mad Men! The retro housewife aesthetic.

Copycat?

Is Liz Tilberis rolling in her grave right now? Her iconic September 1994 Harper's Bazaar cover of Nadja Auermann photographed by Patrick Demarchelier has been swiped and reinterpreted for the September 2008 cover of W, featuring Kate Hudson as photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.
The resemblance is far too uncanny to be a coincidence, what with the same blonde hair, light eyebrows, heavy cat-eye makeup, piercing blue eyes, and dark lipstick framed with a collar of blue all in common. Who did it better?

Bohemian Rhapsody

It seems like September issues hit newsstands earlier and earlier each year. It’s only July and already we’re being treated to some of the best in fall content. Numero Tokyo showcases the ever chic Anna Maria Jagodzinska in beatnik Gucci on its fall cover while inside it predicts the next round of major modeling stars. Anna makes the list, naturally.
