Calvin back in NYC

Calvin Klein wants a piece of the American Dream. Are you in?

Good news for girls in Gotham: This year, for the first time ever, Calvin Klein Menswear will show in New York during Fashion Week, instead of in Milan.

Translation: many hot boys, and easier access to many hot looks for your boys.

Don’t get too excited though - the stateside move is a temporary one honoring the brand’s 40th Anniversary this year. The change is likely to garner some attention for the label, which means maybe you can get your boyfriend / brother / hopelessly unfashionable best friend out of their saggy jeans and into something more successful.

Unfortunately, there will be no instant gratification, as we’ll have to wait for the Fall ‘09 show in February to see the delicious creations (clothes and men alike) strut down the catwalk.

But we think it’ll be worth it. Because as style arbiter Jim Moore said, “When I think of Calvin Klein, I think of modern, timeless design – and what could be more timeless than coming back to New York?”

Chanel Mobile Art: Coming Soon to Central Park

“Chanel has decided to make the legendary quilted bag the focus of an event on an international scale: MOBILE ART. Just as fashion spreads throughout the world, this traveling event will be presented in Asia, the United States and Europe.”

In a futuristic pavilion created by the architect Zaha Hadid, 20 international contemporary artists will exhibit work inspired by the elements that give the emblematic quilted bag from CHANEL its identity.”

This mobile art piece, a traveling pavilion for art exhibits will be at Central Park’s Rumsey Playfield from October 20th to November 9th. After that, it will set off to tour in London, Moscow and making the last stop in Paris. AMAZING!!!
